Moss Landing Oct 23 & 24 2009

We arrived at Moss Landing KOA RV park about 4:40 PM on Friday afternoon. Ray & I got everything all set up and then we took the puppies for a walk. We took them over to the small doggie park behind the harbor office. It was a beautiful day, sun shinning and in about the low 70's. T-shirt weather!

Back at camp Ray got out the lounge chairs and we both enjoyed a glass of wine before walking over to "The Whole Enchilada" Mexican restaurant. Dinner was great, we sat outside in the patio area with the overhead heaters going. It's a nice spot, with several water fountains. We each had a couple of pina coladas, complete with a colorful tiny little mermaid hanging from the side of the glass!

Back at the RV we watched a little TV before calling it a night.

The puppies let us sleep in until almost 7:30!!! It sure felt good. While Ray took the dogs for another walk over to the doggie park, I got the coffee and tea pot started.

After breakfast Ray & I and Boomer & Petie Pie took a nice long walk along the state beach (dogs aren't allowed on the beach). We walked along a trail that ran along the dunes (we couldn't see the beach). The trail also followed along the Salinas River and marsh area. The fog was quick thick that morning. We walked from one state beach parking lot to the next state beach parking lot and then back again.

We hung out at camp for awhile, before walking over to Phil's Fish Market & Restaurant for lunch. Ray had a shrimp salad and I had a big bowl of clam chowder and we shared a plate of calamari. All was GOOD!

We hung out at camp the rest of the day, taking several more walks around the park and the adjoining harbor with the dogs.

We had site #45 - a great site, right in the corner. From the back of our site we could see through the chain linked fence. We had a great view of the back end of the harbor and "The Whole Enchilada" restaurant. It was also a nice view from our 5er rear picture window. At one time we could see a sea otter playing around in the water.

Unfortunately it was foggy all day. It tried to burn off around noon, we saw a little bit of blue sky and then it fogged over again.

I cooked dinner that night and then we watched a Netflix movie "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" it was "OK" not our kind of movie at all.

Sunday morning the puppies let us sleep in until almost 7:30 again!!!

After a leisurely breakfast we started cleaning up and readying to leave. We were on the road by 9:50 AM and had the 5er back to storage by 10:30 AM. We unpacked everything and got back home before 11:00 AM. It was a nice relaxing weekend! We had a good time.
